Built by Cargo People
How ImEx Cargo turned 30+ years of operational experience into Plug-In Freight Ops™ — a connective operational layer that unifies quoting, booking, tracking, reporting, and customer communication.
For more than three decades, ImEx Cargo has operated at the intersection of airlines, freight forwarders, government agencies, and global supply chains. Founded by Michelle DeFronzo, ImEx Cargo was built not on theory, but on lived experience — thousands of shipments, millions of kilos moved, and decades spent inside the freight desk solving problems in real time.
That experience exposed a deeper industry problem: despite billions invested in digitalization, daily freight operations remained fragmented. Quotes lived in emails. Rates lived in PDFs. Tracking lived across airline portals, spreadsheets, and trucking systems. Sales intelligence often lived nowhere at all.
The moment the industry's "workarounds" became a risk
During COVID and subsequent disruptions, the cost of fragmentation became impossible to ignore. In a world of shifting capacity, constant exceptions, and rising compliance expectations, operator teams were still managing 20–30 emails per shipment just to keep freight moving.
Why Plug-In Freight Ops™ is different
Plug-In Freight Ops™ was designed as a connective operational layer — sitting between existing airline systems, GSAs, trucking providers, and customer workflows. It does not require ripping out legacy tools. It completes the ecosystem by giving teams one operational view across the freight desk.
What it unifies
- Real-time quoting, booking, and cargo tracking
- Airline GSA and interline rate access
- Domestic trucking integration across large carrier networks
- Predictive milestone updates and document visibility
- AWB usage, sales intelligence, and performance dashboards
- White-label licensing for airlines, GSAs, forwarders, and government primes
Built for adoption — without disruption
Most freight teams don't have the luxury of multi-month integrations or workflow shutdowns. Plug-In Freight Ops™ was designed to be adoption-friendly: reduce system switching, centralize communication, strengthen reporting, and improve throughput without adding headcount.
Where this is headed
ImEx Cargo operates across SaaS, Forwarding-as-a-Service (FaaS), and white-label licensing models — while expanding workforce development through the ImEx Cargo Academy to train the next generation of logistics professionals.
